Lake Road Baptist Church
What we believe about "the faith...once delivered..." Jude 1:3
THE SCRIPTURES
We Believe every word of GOD to be verbally inspired by GOD and to be preserved in the King James Bible and that it is the final authority of faith and practice. (II Tim 3:16; Ps 12:6-7)
THE TRINITY
We Believe the GODHEAD to be eternally self-existent, manifesting Himself in three persons: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. (I Jn 5:7)
JESUS CHRIST
MAN
We Believe that man was created in the image of GOD innocent and without sin, that man sinned in Adam and that he is now a sinner by choice, therefore all are in need of redemption (Rm 5:12).
SALVATION
We Believe
in salvation as a gift by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, apart
from human merit, works or ceremonies. That every believer is
eternally secure and a child of GOD who can do nothing to forfeit
this gift (Eph 2:8-9; Jn 3:7; Jn 10:29; I Jn 5:13).
HEAVEN AND HELL
We Believe
in the literal Heaven where the truly saved shall spend all
eternity, and a literal burning hell where the unbelieving Christ
rejecter will spend all eternity (Jn 14:6; Rev 20:14-15)
ANGELS
We Believe
that angels are personal beings, originally created holy. Some
angels chose to disobey GOD and follow satan. These fallen angels
comprise satan's army and are known as demons. Obedient angels are
ministering spirits sent for the protection and well being of the
saints (Eph 6:11-12; Ps 91:11).
THE
CHURCH
We Believe
that the local church is composed of regenerated, baptized
believers, voluntarily united together for the purpose of worship,
edification, fellowship of believers, spiritual growth, and the
propagation of the Gospel (Eph 4:11-16)
WORLD EVANGELISM
We Believe,
because all men everywhere without Christ are lost and bound for
hell and men cannot believe on Him in whom they have not heard, that
we are all debtors to all men and have the responsibility of taking
the Gospel to them (Rm 10:14-15; Mt 28:19-20).
PERSONAL SEPARATION
We Believe
in the believers duty to ecclesiastical separation, abstaining from
worldly practices, and live a life devoted to GOD (Rm 12:1-2).
